Daga is a stylization of medieval dagger with developed guard.
They appeared almost in the same time with rapiers and other dagger variations with a developed guard. In the beginning of the XVII century fencing with a rapier and a dagger becomes the most popular type of civil weapon in Europe. Dagger might be the only blade weapon which is still used in the present days one way or another.
