Smallsword AHF

Smallsword AHF is very light thrust weapon that evolved from the Renaissance rapier. It was most popular at the end of the XVII and the beginning of XVIII. It appeared in France, and spread widely in all Europe. Later this weapon evolved into a “French dueling sword”, from which later grew Olympic epee.

It was used both by the military as an auxiliary weapon, until the First World War, and in everyday life as an element of a dress, and for duels.

Smallsword AHF is very light thrust weapon with short triangle blade, round cup and half-rings under cup. This model is developed in cooperation with experienced fencers from Academy of Historical Fencing, with personal help of mr. Nick Thomas.

Sword have lightweight pommel and short ricasso, so total weight of weapon is less than 450 g!
Smallsword AHF is assembled with a standard sport fencing blade. So if your blade breaks, replacing it is quick and easy.

In modern HEMA fencing, various tournaments in the Smallsword nomination are held according to different rules, with different tolerances for the length of the blade, model and weight of the weapon, etc., depending on the studied period.
